Our technology

With the new premium Bluetooth headsets in the MOTION series, UCLEAR is the first manufacturer in the world to introduce headsets for motorcyclists and many other outdoor sports with the very latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology and is also incorporating a number of other revolutionary functions such as U-SAFE accident notification, gesture control via sensors, a dynamic MESH intercom network for large groups and automatic switching on/off of the headsets via the U-MOVE motion sensor. Bluetooth 5.0 also offers four times the range, twice the speed and eight times the capacity for group communication with lower power consumption. Bluetooth 5.0 also works with all older Bluetooth versions and devices, making it the secure future for Bluetooth intercom systems.

CLEARLink is our free smartphone app that even allows you to wirelessly update the firmware of the UCLEAR AMP and MOTION series and adjust all settings for these communication systems at a touch of a button. The app also displays the headset's battery status and firmware version, as well as interactive tutorials/videos for all the headset's key features and complete user guides. The CLEARLink app is available free of charge for Apple and Android devices and should always be installed to enjoy the full functionality and convenience of UCLEAR headsets.

The revolutionary U-SAFE feature of the MOTION Infinity headsets uses an advanced acceleration sensor to detect and measure hard impacts and unusual acceleration patterns on the helmet, similar to those that can occur in an accident. If the U-SAFE function is activated via the app and the alarm was triggered, for example, by a hard blow to the helmet, you have 30 seconds to cancel the alarm. If no reaction occurs or is no longer possible, U-SAFE sends an SMS / email via the connected smartphone to up to three previously stored contacts, to inform them of the possible accident. The message also shows the location with GPS details on a map, as well as the nearby hospitals with contact details. Especially when driving alone or on roads with little traffic or off-road U-SAFE can inform the rescuers in an emergency even if you are no longer able to do so by yourself.

With the BUTTONLESS GESTURE CONTROL, UCLEAR has integrated the world's first contactless gesture control into a Bluetooth motorbike headset. After activating the function, the MOTION Infinity and MOTION 6 models emit a sensor beam from the side. This recognises simple hand gestures such as waving at the height of the headset as well as the distance of the hand and controls common functions such as the volume, pause and start of the music as well as the music tracks of the wirelessly connected smartphone. As there are no buttons to press, operating the MOTION headset is no longer a problem, even when wearing thick gloves.

UCLEAR is also the first manufacturer in the world to present DynaMESH, the first dynamic MESH intercom network in MOTION headsets, where there are no longer any differences in the handling or configuration of Bluetooth and/or mesh-capable headsets. The DynaMESH intercom network pairs seamlessly with mesh and normal Bluetooth headsets and automatically reorganises itself as soon as a driver changes position within the group, leaves it or comes back into range. In combination with UCLEAR's proven MULTI-HOP technology, the headsets in the group achieve maximum range with a constantly stable connection, as each rider acts like a relay station and forwards the communication to the next rider.

UCLEAR already scored points with the proven AMP headset series with its MULTI-HOP technology, in which each headset in the group also works as a relay station, increasing the range with each additional user. This proprietary technology is also integrated into the MOTION headsets, so that the range from the first to the last rider in a group is only limited by the number of riders in between and is therefore theoretically unlimited. With the MOTION headsets, the maximum range between two headsets with a clear view is up to one kilometre, which increases with each additional rider thanks to the MULTI-HOP technology. This means that even the last rider in a very large group can talk to the first rider far ahead, even if he is already out of sight. In short: the more riders in the group ride at a distance, the greater the range with MULTI-HOP technology.

The Advanced Beam Forming (ABF) technology is UCLEAR's patented system, which uses a microphone array consisting of two small, invisible microphones instead of just one microphone in front of the mouth, which is usually a nuisance. Especially with flip-up helmets, the microphone in front of the mouth is often a nuisance, which usually has to be corrected in position after opening/closing the helmet and can also be damaged after frequent use. Depending on the model, the very small but highly sensitive dual MEMS microphones are either already built into the loudspeakers of the headsets or are mounted on both sides of the helmet via short cables at the height of the eyebrows, temples or cheeks at an even but wide distance from the mouth, often invisibly under the lining of the helmet. Thanks to the triangular ABF "microphone-mouth-microphone" arrangement together with patented DSP algorithms, the two microphones can distinguish very well between the speech source and the ambient noise and block out disturbing noises. The UCLEAR headsets therefore deliver the best voice quality even at high speeds and in noisy environments.

DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING (DSP) is the digital signal processing that enables UCLEAR headsets to filter out a wide range of disturbing noises and other acoustic problems using extremely versatile algorithms. This technology allows communication even in very noisy environments or at high speeds. An effective DSP in combination with UCLEAR's Advanced Beam Forming (ABF) technology makes it possible to combine an almost unlimited number of participants in an intercom group with the AMP or MOTION headsets, depending on the model. As each headset usually only transmits the filtered speech, noise cannot accumulate so quickly with each additional participant until conversation is no longer possible. In addition, the microphones of passive participants can also be switched off by voice command or at the touch of a button and switched on again if required.

The UCLEAR headsets in the MOTION series understand some voice commands via U-COMMAND so that the headset can also be operated without buttons. For example, voice commands can be used to switch on the intercom, check the battery status, start the music or redial the last telephone number. You can also call contacts from the phone list directly by voice command or, with a little practice, even have the desired phone number recited and dialled. The voice commands can also be customised and trained to suit your own pronunciation and even the language itself. Many of the settings and functions are confirmed or announced as understood by the U-PROMPT voice output of the motion headsets. In addition, the MOTION headsets also support voice assistants such as Apple Siri or Google Voice, which means that all the possibilities of the connected smartphone can be fully utilised with an appropriate Internet connection.

U-MOVE is the name of the motion sensor built into the MOTION headsets and, like many other interesting functions, has been integrated into a motorbike headset for the first time by UCLEAR. The motion sensor ensures that the headset switches off automatically if it is not moved for a longer period of time. It also switches the headset on again as soon as the helmet is moved. This saves a lot of power and prevents a completely flat battery if you forget to switch the headset off normally after a ride.
Very convenient: If the headset was previously switched off using the motion sensor rather than the switch, it also switches itself on again using the motion sensor as soon as you put the helmet on for the next ride.

U-PAIR also allows fast pairing with any Bluetooth headsets from other manufacturers. This is not a matter of course, as the intercom profiles for the intercom system differ greatly between almost all manufacturers and are therefore not compatible with each other. To connect to the UCLEAR headset, the headset from the other manufacturer is set to search mode for a smartphone. Press and hold the power button on the UCLEAR headset for 10 seconds until the LED flashes purple and wait briefly for the two headsets to synchronise. This pairing process only needs to be carried out once. You can then start the intercom system as usual and talk to the other headset. The U-PAIR function can even be used to pair Bluetooth headsets, loudspeakers and hands-free systems that do not support the intercom function themselves.

UCLEAR's E-Z (Easy) 1-Touch pairing allows the MOTION systems to pair very quickly with other participants and access frequently used functions such as controlling the headset via voice commands or controlling smartphone functions and apps using Apple Siri or Google Voice. It really is E-Z!
